UCAR FlightGuard AD-480 Propylene Glycol Type IV Aircraft Anti-Icing Fluid![]() UCAR™ FlightGuard™ AD-480 Propylene Glycol Type IV Aircraft Anti-Icing Fluid (AAF) contains water, corrosion inhibitors, wetting agents, thickeners and green dye. UCAR™ FlightGuard™ AD-480 PG Type IV AAF is formulated to be used neat (undiluted) as an anti-icing fluid for extended protection time against precipitation. UCAR™ FlightGuard™ AD-480 PG Type IV AAF should only be used undiluted. UCAR™ FlightGuard™ AD-480 PG Type IV AAF is formulated to provide rapid and uniform wetting and spreading on the surface of an aircraft, maximizing the efficiency and effectiveness of its application. Conformance to Industry StandardsSAE AMS 1428D. UCAR™ FlightGuard™ AD-480 PG Type IV AAF conforms to the technical requirements of the Society Automotive Engineers Aerospace Material Specification1 (SAE AMS) 1428D in the neat (100/0) form. The average time of the Water Spray Endurance Test (WSET) is about 60 minutes, using a volume dilution of 75% UCAR™ FlightGuard™ AD-480 PG Type IV AAF and 25% hard water. This meets the minimum requirements of the SAE AMS 1428D of 20 minutes. UCAR™ FlightGuard™ AD-480 PG Type IV AAF should only be used undiluted. UCAR™ FlightGuard™ AD-480 PG Type IV AAF typically results in a High Humidity Endurance Test (HHET) time of greater than 12 hours.
